Earth Day 2020

22nd April 2020

By Lucy Phillips, President

22nd April 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, organised to diversify, educate and activate the environmental movement worldwide.

The theme for this Earth Day is Climate Action and 'centering the leadership and abundance of indigenous wisdom'. @earthdaynetwork and @culturestrike are teaming up to commission art from Indigenous artists and artists of colour - check out some of the cool artwork above.

Don’t think you can take part at home? Wrong - this year, Earth Day goes digital. Tune into a digital event - more information about everything from seminars on the SDGs or the future of climate action beyond the COVID-19 crisis to a Wheelbarrow Disco Garden Party (?!) can be found on the map on the official Earth Day website.

Or, just take a few moments to think about what you’re doing to live sustainably during lockdown. The SDA committee's tips will be following shortly.
